Summer Days '09

Okay, so I can't figure out how to move pictures to put them in the right order. Be patient, I'm still learning!
Summer is finally here! It took so long this summer for it to warm up and stop raining and hailing. Our poor gardens are not thriving! Chloe and Chase started their summer vacation taking an art class. Then when that was finished, they started swimming lessons. Chad and Chase have been taking tennis lessons.

We were lucky enough this year to have my brother, Rich and his family come visit us during the 4th of July weekend. They live in South Jordan and my kids were thrilled to see their cousins! Once again, Brett instigated patriotic tee-shirts...this time tye-dyed shirts. They all looked great at the parade! We also spent some time at the falls, Chesbro Music and Reed's Dairy.

McGary Ladies Retreat to Twin Falls, Idaho

This was in the City of Rocks

This is one of the "Twin Falls." The other one was diverted into this one.
Can you believe this is only for ONE NIGHT?? At least we can say there
were four of us. But, how pathetic!!!

Eric's mom, Donna; his sisters, Kathryn and Stacy, and me.

Shoshone Falls
They were amazing! And so close to us!

This lake is right by Shoshone Falls. It's beautiful and so clear that you can see quite a ways down in it. They have marked off a place for swimming and even have a diving board.

Chloe loves t-ball!

Chloe is on a neighborhood t-ball team. I asked her what she enjoys about t-ball and she said, "I love to hit the ball....I love to run around the bases...and I love to catch the ball and throw it." So I guess she loves everything about t-ball. Her coach, Mikki, and her assistant coach, Jeana, are wonderful!

A Quick Get-A-Way to Island Park

We were shocked when we saw the size of this elk!
It's HUGE! Eric was amazed and wanted a few pictures of it.

Okay, this is not in order....anyway, Eric went fishing at Henrys Lake a few times while we were there. There were tons of fish you could see right at the dock.

Eric fly fishing at Henrys Lake

The cabin in Island Park that Earl & Pat Holyoak graciously allowed us to use.

On our way to Island Park, we stopped and found some wild asparagus.
It goes so well with fish!

We love fish!

One of the things we look forward to in the spring/summer, is a fish fry! YUM!!! Eric sure knows how to fillet and cook fish to where everyone loves them.

Mini Vacation at Grand Targhee in Wyoming

We arrived at Grand Targhee Thursday around 6 p.m. After unpacking, we ate dinner and then went swimming and sat in the hot tub with our friends, the Holyoaks. These were outside and so if you were really brave, you could lay in the snow and then jump in the water to warm up. On Friday, Chloe and Chase took skiing/boarding lessons while the rest of us skied/boarded. After the lifts closed at 4 p.m. (for some odd reason, they don't do night skiing there), Chloe, Chase, Chad and I went tubing with Claire and Harrison. Then after dinner, Eric took the kids swimming again and when they returned, Chauntel and I went. Saturday we went skiing/boarding again but this time, we couldn't stay until closing because it was snowing so hard and we were just tired. So we quit a little after 2 p.m. and were on the road home by 3 p.m. Our room/suite at the lodge was so cool! It had an upstairs and a downstairs. The downstairs had a room with two sets of bunk beds and then there was the master bedroom. There was even a bed in the wall upstairs, which Chauntel quickly dubbed her's. I think the kids thought the t.v. was as much of a vacation as the skiing/boarding!

Visting Santa

Two days before Christmas, I took Chloe to the mall to see Santa. Chase was bored at home and so he decided to come with us. This is what the mall parking lot looked like. Welcome to Idaho!
